PhD student, Philosophy
School of Arts & Sciences

Samantha is a first year Philosophy PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and Political Science from Youngstown State University.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of political philosophy, philosophy of law, and ethics. Particularly, she is concerned with various aspects of state legitimacy, obligations to the state, and obligations of the state. She is most interested in what obligations citizens and non-citizens owe the state, and what the state owes them, especially in light of the structural harm the state imposes on certain groups.

Outside of her research interests, Samantha spends her time with family and friends and volunteering with various high school speech and debate communities in Ohio.
