Monique Perry is a fourth-year PhD student in the Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education program at the Penn Graduate School of Education (GSE). Perry previously was a trainer for the Penn LGBT Center and a graduate student assistant for the Center for Research in Feminist, Queer, and Transgender Studies. She earned an MSEd from GSE with a concentration in community action and social change. She worked for several years as an educator for Women Against Abuse providing K-12 classes in the Philadelphia School District and professional development workshops around sexuality and relationship education including teen dating violence, and intimate partner violence. Prior to WAA, she taught English and service-learning in Philadelphia. She holds a BA from the U of M. She studied English and Political Science. Perry's research and professional interests include sexuality education, gender-based violence, curriculum development, teacher education, community organizing, and digital methodology.
