Maithili Pokle is a second year organic chemistry MCS student at the School of Arts and Sciences, working on developing potent analogs for the cure of HIV/AIDS. She was born in Mumbai (India), where she also obtained her bachelors in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Mumbai. Maithili plans to continue her education and get a PhD degree in organic chemistry. She is passionate about encouraging women to pursue STEM fields and demystifying organic chemistry as being a difficult subject matter. During her free time she likes to dance, read crime novels, debate movie plots and learn German.
