Laronnda Thompson is a Philadelphia native and Ph.D. student in the Human Development and Quantitative Methods department at Penn GSE. Laronnda's research concerns Cognitive Development and how young children make-meaning from educational curricula, particularly ELA text-selection and/or reading, beyond intended lessons. She has served in a number of student leadership roles during her time in Penn, which began as an M.S.Ed student in the Reading/Writing/Literacy program also at GSE. Prior to entering Penn GSE, Laronnda worked for community development programs, namely the Salvation Army. She is also an alumna of Temple University (2008) and Saint Joseph's University (2011)
