Jose S Campos is pursuing his Ph.D. in Immunology at the Perelman School of Medicine. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology (Emphasis in Immunology) and a minor in Molecular Toxicology. After graduating, he spent 4 years studying novel immunotherapies and adoptive cellular therapies for applications in cancer in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a first generation Latino student, Jose wants to increase inclusion and diversity in STEM and mentor students from underrepresented groups. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Jose continues to raise funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS education and preventive services. Jose is interested in studying mechanisms of T cell dysfunction in cancer and primary immunodeficiency.
