Fontaine Society Future Faculty Fellowships

Fontaine Future Faculty Fellowships provide supplemental funding, mentorship, and training to exceptional doctoral students from a variety of backgrounds whose background, research and experiences demonstrate the potential to contribute to the richness of their academic programs and chosen fields. The program is intended to help prepare promising Penn graduate students for faculty careers across a range of academic institutions.
PhDs in year two (2) or above with a demonstrated commitment to advancing access and supporting welcoming learning, mentoring, and research environments.
Fellows are part of a cohort who together engage in a range of professional development activities, including monthly seminars, focused mentorship sessions with faculty and peer mentors, and summer institutes.
Fellows and peer mentors receive $1500 in funds for travel or research related to their dissertation.
2027-28 Cycle

- Notifications sent: early August
- Monthly Sessions: September – April
