Christian Uruburo is pursuing his PhD in Organic Chemistry. He graduated with a BA in both Chemistry and Performing Arts from Cornell University. He spent 4 years working full time as a Clinical Research Associate at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. At MSKCC, he managed the operations of major clinical trials for patients with Lymphoma receiving Bone Marrow Transplant or CAR-T therapy. His research interests going into Penn will explore the interfaces between organic and medicinal chemistry. As a first generation Latino and LGBTQ+ person, Christian is both excited and nervous to enter STEM Academia. During his time at Penn, he aims to also take on projects that promote inclusion in science for students that identify as members of marginalized communities and highlight available resources.
