Christian is a fourth-year bioengineering PhD student at the School of Engineering and Applied Science, developing nanotechnologies for the treatment of blood cancers. He was born in the Island of Enchantment, where he also obtained his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. Chris has found passion for mentoring the next generation of Latinxs in SEM and hopes to become a leader within the community, as well as lead a research lab in the future using engineering and physical sciences in oncology. During his free time, Chris enjoys CrossFit, dancing, outdoors, cooking, baking, and solo-traveling.
